Congratulations to all the athletes who represented the club in the Leinster U23, Senior & Masters T&F Championships in Tullamore today. Louis McCarthy won silver in the senior men's 5000m race in a time of 15.18, followed by Gerald Forde who finished in bronze medal position in 15.47, Ciaran Aylward who was 4th in 16.04, and Brian Furey who ran 16.42. Laurence Boran competed in the U/23 800m and won bronze in a time of 2.03.29. In the master's men's competition, John McCabe won gold in the 800m in a time of 2.24.36 and also picked up bronze in the 1500m in 5.12.55, behind clubmate Tom Cuddy who finished 2nd in 4.58.39. Terry Clarke also medalled in the O/55 category, finishing 3rd in the 200m in 31.48 and in the 400m in 67.79. Peter McDermott won gold in the O/65 3000m race in a time of 12.18.24. The final track And Field League meeting took place in Tallaght on Saturday. The cloudy cold conditions were a stark difference to last week's balmy weather! Rathfarnham was well represented in different age groups. Making their debut for the club was Marie Bishop (U14) and Jennifer Bishop (U11). Sophie Richie qualified for the final of the 80m (U12), Senan Delargy also qualified for the 80m (U12) final. Needless to say, there were also some very strong brave performances by our other young athletes.

Marie Bishop under 14 and Jennifer Bishop under11 who made their debut for Rathfarnham on Saturday.
The latest instalment of the Juvenile League took place on Saturday in balmy hot conditions. Performances where also hot on the track by Rathfarnham's Boys and Girls. Making her debut for Rathfarnham was Yamina Abdeladif, who put in a solid performance in the 200m.

Well done to all 16 from the Club who ran in today's Terenure 5 Mile road race which was promoted by our neighbouring Club Sportsworld. First home was Louis McCarthy 9th in 25.42, closely followed by Paul Fleming 11th in 26.17, Ciaran Aylward 22nd in 27.11 and Greg Byrne 45th in 29.00 to take the second team prize. These were followed by Peter Toomey (29.25), Derek Bain (31.08), Archie O'Donnell (31.09), Daniel Keogh (33.08), Grainne Connor (33.11), Philip Wright (33.30, 2nd M60), Olivier Gullot (34.39), Peter McDermott (35.25, 2nd M65), Dermot Hicks (35.51), Aisling O'Connor (37.17), Jackie O'Sullivan (37.37) and PJ Claffey (38.24).
