On Saturday, the venue of the second meeting was Tallaght AC. This time round the conditions where much more favourable than the monsoon like weather that prevailed last week in Santry.
The first event of the day, the Girls Under 14 200m, featured Alannah Cullen and Isabelle Doyle. In their respective heats, Alannah came 4th and Isabelle finished 3rd in a tight finish. In the Boys Under 14 200m heats, Ian Kirwan put in a very strong performance to come 3rd. Rathfarnham Under 13 Girls 200m showed impressive performances, with Nicole O'Brien 4th, Clodagh Cullen 4th, Alannah Fasenfeld 3rd and in her track debut Aoife Quigley 3rd. Also in the Girls 200m, Fortune Chukwu stormed home to win her heat in great style. Elena Cullen and Sophie Fasenfeld were our representives in the Girls Under 12 200m and Long Jump. Billy Conroy put in a great performance in the Boys Under 13 200m. The Under 10 Boys featured Dara Mulvihill and George Kennedy and the Under 12 Boys Cian Mulvihill and Sam Kennedy. Fortune Chukwu storming to victory in the Girls U13 200m.
At the Dublin Athletics Board Graded Meeting in Tallaght on Wednesday our athletes ran well on a windy cold evening. In the 800m Richard Keogh ran 2.04, Lee Byrne from WSAF AC ran 2.06, Gerard Claffey 2.12 and Cillian Doherty from WSAF AC 2.14. At the Irish Milers Club meeting in Greystones on Saturday 2nd May Richard Keogh ran 2.03 in the 800m, while Stephen Gaffney had a brilliant run to win the 100m A race in 10.75. The full results are on the IMC website. Wel done to all who ran.
