At todays West Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships in the Phoenix Park, in the Intermediate Girls race, Niamh Mclaughlin (Loreto Beaufort) finished in 7th position in her first cross country race. Roisin Long (Loreto Beaufort) had a great run and finished in 16th position, Niamh Tynan (Our Lady's, Templeogue) was 25th and helped her school to second position and won a silver medal and Emily Black (St McDaras Templeogue) had a fine run to finish 26th. In the senior girls race Patricia Lyne (Our Lady's Templeogue) had an outstanding run and finished in 15th position.
In the West Leinster Minor Boys race Richard Keogh (Templeogue College) had a great run to finish in 4th position, In the Intermediate Boys Oisin McGrath (St Mary's) had a great run to finish 20th, Oisin Joyce (Terenure College) was 49th and was followed home by Andrew Wall (St Mary's). In the senior boys race David Scanlon (Terenure College) had another good run to finish 5th and Sean Hayes was 18th (Terenure College) having only just recovered from injury.
In the East Leinsters Schools Cross Country in Avondale Tom McGrath (Gonzaga) was 9th in the junior boys race. In the senior boys race Ian Rankin was 8th, Mark Young 22nd, Paddy O'Donoghoe 32nd and James Vickery, all Gonzaga helped their team to finish in 4th position. It was great to see such a large contingent from our Club who competed so well.
