Sean Hehir 22nd in Gothenborg Half Marathon, Saturday 21st May 2011

Sean Hehir had the run of his life today by coming in 22nd. in the Gothenborg Half Marathon in a time of 66.50. This was a magnificant achievement for Sean in his first half marathon, which was one of the biggest in the world with over 70,000 runners. Sean was also the second non-African finisher in the race. Report from Wicklow way 25k trail run, Saturday 26th March 2011

We had some excellent runs in the IMRA Wicklow way run over 25k of mountain trails on Saturday. Brian Furey was first home for the Club in 2nd place. Brian was closely followed by Niall Somers 4th and Anthony Frazer 9th. Donna Mahon was 11th overall and first lady home. Other Club finishers include Mike Long 28, Richard Cattle 37, Laura Flynn 49, Zoe Melling 52 and Vanessa Sallier 83. Full results and photos on IMRA website. Urban trail 10 k runs, Marlay Park, 12th March and Tymon Park 5th Feb. 2011

Paidraig McCriostail continued his good form by winning the 10k Marlay Park 'Urban Trail' race last Saturday 12th March in a time of 39.38. Zoe Melling was 2nd. in the ladies race and 38th overall in a time of 48.41. She won the F40 category. In an earlier Urban Trail run in Tymon Park on 5th Feb. 2011, Donna Mahon was 2nd. lady home and 4th overall in a time of 41.39. Full results are at the Urban Trail Series website. Irish Universities Indoor T&F Championships, Nenagh, 5th Feb 2011

Well done to Gerard Claffey, running for the Trinity DUHAC team, ran 2.10 in a very fast indoor 800m yesterday in Nenagh. This was his first indoor race. Full results to follow shortly on IUAA website.

AAI Inter Counties Cross Country Championships, Derry, Sun. 28th Nov. 2010

Well done to Jack Mcloughin who ran himself to a standstill to finish in 37th place in the Junior Inter Counties Cross Country Championships in Grancha Park, Derry on Sunday, over a very difficult 6k snow covered course. Sean Hehir ran another brilliant race in the Senior 10K event to finish a credible 13th, while running for his native Clare. Donna Mahon also had a great run on the Dublin team by finishing 21st in the Ladies race leaving many more fancied runners in her wake. Full results on AAI website.
