We had some fine performances from our juvenile athletes in the Dublin T&F Championships over the weekend. Tom McGrath finished 3rd in the U13 600m on Friday night in a PB of 1min 48 seconds & Stephen Gaffney had a PB of 2 mins 15 seconds finishing 5th in the U18 800m. On Saturday, David Scanlon ran a brave race to finish 3rd in the U17 3,000 meters in a PB of 10 mins 03 seconds. Stephen Gaffney took silver in the U18 triple jump.On Sunday Michael Connolly finished 7th in the U15 1500m in a PB of 5 mins 07 seconds. Ian Rankin ran a very aggressive race to win the U17 1500m in 4 mins 25 seconds & Sean Hayes finished 5th in 4 mins 54 seconds. Stephen Gaffney finished 7th in the U18 1500m in a PB of 4 mins 45 seconds. In a very tactical U19 1500m, Jack McLaughlin took silver medal in 4 mins 32 seconds.In the Junior open mile on Saturday night Gerard Claffey ran 4 mins 58 seconds in his first time over the distance.Well done to all our runners who put in really strong performances again.

At last nights Dublin Championships we had 8 competitors. In the 800m Brian McCabe ran another good race in a time of 2.03, while Brian O'Donoghue ran 2.09. In the Junior mile event Gerard Claffey ran 4.58. In the 5000m Barry Minnock was 2nd in 14.57, Paul Fleming was 3rd in 15.03, Louis McCarthy was 8th in 16.13, Jason Reid ran 16.40 while Owen McLoughlin took the first masters prize in a PB of 16.50. At Thursdays BHAA Trinity track races there was some good Club performances. In the 800m Stuart McClean ran 2.12, Heiner Schuster 2.46 and P.J. Claffey 2.48. In the 1 mile Dan O'Carroll ran 5.24, Heiner Schuster 6.10 and P.J. Claffey 6.18. In the 3000m Heiner ran 12.27. Full results on BHAA website.
