It was an incredible day at the Berlin marathon with Eluid Kipchoge taking a massive 1min18secs off the world record. But hot on Kipchoge’s heels was Rathfarnham WSAF AC’s Bobby Murphy who took a full 5mins off his PB to finish 53rd overall and 7th M35. Congratulations on a fantastic performance Bobby, but we suspect that there is more to come!  The only other Rathfarnham WSAF AC athlete was Micheál Murphy who is targeting DCM but still ran a speedy 3:17 long tempo in Berlin!

We had three Rathfarnham WSAF athletes competing in the 2018 World Mountain Running Championships in Andorra. Two thirds of the senior Irish team was from Rathfarnham WSAF AC.  The course was a brutal 11km, mostly vertical, up to the finish line in the thin air at 2450m. Our own Mark Ryan and Eoin Flynn finished 50th and 51st respectively with Zach Hannan in 47th making up the Irish team.

Ruairi Long was 44th in the Junior mens race and on the Irish team that finished 11th overall.

Well done to the Irish team and congratulations to Mark,Eoin and Ruairi on yet more Irish Caps!
