Report from Shane O'Neill

It was well worth the long drive down to East Cork for the Rathfarnham Athletes who travelled to the Ballycotton 10.

A little bit of history was made when the Rathfarnham Senior Mens team of Louis McCarthy, Paul Stephenson and Shane O’ Neill took gold in the team prize. It is the first time ever in the 40 year history of the race that a Rathfarnham Senior Team have won any medal never mind taking gold.

Louis finished 6th in 52.12, Paul was 8th in 52.53 and Shane 11th in 53.30, he also took the M45 gold. Peter Toomey finished strongly with a time of 1:0:15 with Micheal Murphy finishing in 1:03:55.
