We had a small but very successful number of Juvenile athletes competing in the Dublin Track and Field Championships on the 20th and 21st June.
Tom McGrath who made finals of both 60M and 600M ran a great final to win bronze in the 600M. Niamh Tynan also made the finals of both her events and only just finished outside the medals in the 800M. Rebecca Sweeney ran great races and made the final of the 100M finishing just outside the medals. There is no doubt that this trio will be very successful athletes in the future. In the Boys U/17 3K Michael Tracey ran a tactically perfect race to see off all comers and win gold. A small error by the organisers put in an extra lap and Michael showed that even this was no problem. The time in results is for 3.4K . Jack McLoughlin showed great promise for the future in winning gold in the U/18 Boys 1500M in a great personal best time of 4.24. No doubt we will see a lot more of Jack in the future. Both he and Michael coached by Philip Halpin are a great credit to his diligent attention.
