Juveniles of all ages and standards are welcome in the Club. For those aged 8-14, the training times are Monday and Wednesday at 18.30-19:30 in the grounds of Rathfarnham Castle. Please drop off and collect children from the castle grounds. Parking is available in the public car park adjacent to the Castle, along the Rathfarnham village bypass. Training is now also taking place on Saturday mornings on the Tallaght Athletics track, Tallaght village. All athletes should be there at 9:50am for a 10am start. Training finishes at 11am.
Coaching Manager Adam Jones is a Fitness Professional Ireland Member, AAI Qualified Coach (Level 4) and was AAI National Coach of the year in 2007. He is supported by a team of experienced assistant coaches and all juveniles are well looked after. Please come down and try the sessions out.
Our junior athletes (14 to 19 years) prepare for both schools and club cross country championships over the months of September to January. At the end of January the focus changes to preparation for Track and Field (T&F) events. Our junior athletes compete in both schools and Club T&F championships.
We now have a thriving junior boys and girls section of the Club. Our junior athletes have been very successful in both schools and club competitions. We are a friendly club and all new members are warmly welcomed. We give all new members plenty of time to settle in before competing in races. Our junior athletes train on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Bushy Park (meet 6.30pm at the children’s playground) and on Saturdays at 10.00.
